چکیده

Understanding transportation and deposition (TD) of aerosol particles in the human respiratory system can help clinical treatment lung diseases using medicines. The airway diameters breathing capacity lungs normally increase with age until 30. Many studies have analyzed particle TD airways. However, knowledge nanoparticle airways infants children varying inhalation flow rates is still limited literature. This study investigates (5 nm ≤ dp 500 nm) infants, children, adults. air corresponding to three ages are considered as Qin=3.22 L/min (infant), 8.09 (Child), Qin=14 (adult). It found that less deposited upper (G0–G3) than lower (G12–G15) all groups. results suggest efficiency increases decrease size due Brownian diffusion mechanism. About 3% G12–G15 for As decreased 5 nm, rate increased over 95%. present findings medical therapy by individually simulating distribution drug-aerosol patient-specific lung.

Micro Particles Transport and Deposition in Realistic Geometry of Human Upper Airways

Realistic geometry of human upper airways from mouth to the end of trachea was reconstructed by implementing the CT-Scan images of a male subject.   A computational model for analyzing the airflow in the airways was developed and several simulations were performed.  To capture the anisotropy of the inhaled airflow in the upper airways, the Reynolds stress transport model of turbulence was used ...

Micro Particle Transport and Deposition in Human Upper Airways

The hazard caused by inhaled particles depends on the site at which they deposit within the respiratory system. Knowledge of respiratory aerosol deposition rates and locations is necessary to (1) evaluate potential health effects and establish critical exposure limits and (2) design effective inhaled medications that target specific lung regions. Particles smaller than 10 μm in diameter can be ...

Modeling airflow and particle transport/deposition in pulmonary airways.

A review of research papers is presented, pertinent to computer modeling of airflow as well as nano- and micron-size particle deposition in pulmonary airway replicas. The key modeling steps are outlined, including construction of suitable airway geometries, mathematical description of the air-particle transport phenomena and computer simulation of micron and nanoparticle depositions. Specifical...

patterns and variations in native and non-native interlanguage pragmatic rating: effects of rater training, intercultural proficiency, and self-assessment

although there are studies on pragmatic assessment, to date, literature has been almost silent about native and non-native english raters’ criteria for the assessment of efl learners’ pragmatic performance. focusing on this topic, this study pursued four purposes. the first one was to find criteria for rating the speech acts of apology and refusal in l2 by native and non-native english teachers...
